#sextakeover poll: Did your school sex education help prepare you for your sex life?

Results from our #sextakeover survey about the UK's attitude to sex and relationships.

This video was made produced by students from the University of Sunderland.

On Tuesday 20th November 5 Live is hosted the #sextakeover - a day of programming focussed on sexual behaviour, relationships and attitudes in the UK.

As part of the event, we commissioned a poll to find out more about the UK's attitudes towards sex.

Nearly half (47%) of British adults say their school sex education did not prepare them for their sex life at all.

One in six (16%) British adults say they did not receive any sex education at school.

Two in five (40%) adults aged 18-34 say their school education prepared them for their sex life ‘a little’, compared with three in ten (31%) 35-54 year olds and one in six (16%) 55+ year olds who say the same.
