The pop-up supper club helping volunteers escape homelessness
After working in a hostel and witnessing residents struggle to break the homelessness cycle, Meg Doherty decided to help make a change. She set up a social enterprise scheme which hosts monthly supper clubs, to help the young and homeless. By completing voluntary work and training, volunteers earn a deposit for a permanent home. For people who have spent years living on the streets, like 27-year-old Emmanuel, the scheme not only gives them a home and an incredible support system but also provides the opportunity for a new beginning.
