Mr England – an amputee who’s a stuntman, model and bronze medal winning canoeist
Until Jack had his right leg removed, he'd always been in pain. A birth defect had caused it to be shorter than the right leg, which caused backache, and the leg itself was became progressively more painful. So at age 16 he decided to have it amputated. Now aged 29, Jack’s dedicated to achieving his career goals while breaking down barriers at the same time. He’s a stuntman, became the first amputee to be crowned Mr England, and, having joined the British canoeing team, has already claimed a bronze medal at the European and World Championships. Next on his to-do list? To become Mr World in 2019, and be a member of Team GB at the 2020 Paralympics. Getting his leg amputated was, Jack says, “the best decision I ever made”.
