New season, new rules and a new approach from Rory

Lee Westwood joins us to chat about golf's new rules and the same old Nottingham Forest

Having been invited back for that ‘difficult second season’, The Cut assesses whether it can live up to the crushing mediocrity of the first series. We think we can. Lee Westwood is this week’s special guest in Abu Dhabi as the golfing season gathers momentum at the first Rolex Series event of the year.
There are new rules to get to grips with - some of them not popular with the pros - and we put our slant on the big stories of 2019. Lots has happened since the end of last season. Rory McIlroy has upset the European Tour, Tommy Fleetwood has been forced to find some new clubs and Andrew Cotter briefly came out of retirement - but then lost to a six-year-old. We also hear from Padraig Harrington, the new European Ryder Cup captain, on why statistics and the layout of Whistling Straits could be a big factor in 2020. And we examine Charley Hull's early season victory in the Middle East.
