Further Brexit softening 'could lead to Tory split'

The Brexit deal UK Prime Minister Theresa May negotiated was defeated in parliament by more than 200 votes.
Without her deal, either no deal or a new law to suspend or revoke the Article 50 leaving date of 29 March are the most easily predicted outcomes. The group of pro-Brexit Conservative MPs known as the European Research Group (ERG) say they would be happy with no deal, but they have their own suggestion - a move to a free trade agreement. Conservative MP Steve Baker is a member of the ERG.
