The place where time zones converge
Shiver to the sound of the wind blowing and ice crystals forming around the microphone at the geographical North Pole. Legendary sound recordist Chris Watson ventured there for the 大象传媒's television series Frozen Planet, to Camp Barneo - set up on the sea ice at 89 degrees north. Chris relates: "we flew the final 1 degree north, which is 69 nautical miles, to 90 degrees north in a Russian MI 8 helicopter. The sun never sets during April until September and although we were on Norwegian time the strange thing is that at the pole all time zones converge."
The atmospheric image was also provided with the kind courtesy of Chris Watson.
