Once in a century flooding hits northern Australia

Two men have died in Townsville in northern Australia amid a "once in a century" flood. More than a thousand people have been evacuated and as many as 20,000 homes are at risk of being inundated.

More rain is expected in the coming days and residents have been warned to be cautious about crocodiles and snakes lurking in the waters.

Newsday's Shaimaa Khalil spoke to Alan Carpenter who lives in the town.
