Could you survive on a deserted island?
In Daniel Defoe’s classic 18th century adventure story ‘Robinson Crusoe’, the mariner finds himself shipwrecked on a deserted island in the Caribbean and has to use his wits to stay alive. Bridget Kendall talks to Karen O’Brien and Andreas Mueller about how Crusoe used careful planning and observation of his environment to survive for over 28 years on his island.
