Idlib and the Syrian Crisis
The ongoing humanitarian crisis on the borders of Syria was brought into stark relief this week with the news that the baby son of Shamima Begum had died in a refugee camp.
The situation could become even worse, however, as the fragile ceasefire in the province of Idlib, struck last year between Russia and Turkey, which had halted an assault by Syria's government forces, appears to be on verge of collapse.
Aid agencies have warned that this will result in massive bloodshed, civilian casualties and the likelihood of refugee camps being overwhelmed by people escaping the conflict.
Save the Children's Caroline Anning, who is monitoring the situation from Jordan, and contributing foreign affairs editor for The Herald, David Pratt, examine the situation.
