Dancing On My Own | Yorkshire Dance / Sara Lindström
Dancing On My Own celebrates the simplicity and complexity of dancing. By inviting people to dance to their favourite song in front of a camera, the film gives form to a collection of physical and audible portraits that explore why dancing to our favourite music is so enjoyable. What is it that activates our sensory creativity and what are our different individual and collective motives for dancing?
Dancing On My Own was made by choreographer and filmmaker Sara Lindström in 2016. It was commissioned by Yorkshire Dance as part of the Juncture Festival, and was shot on site at Yorkshire Dance in Leeds.
