Speaker has rare casting vote in no-deal Brexit Bill deadlock
Well, while Jeremy Corbyn and Theresa May headed off for their discussions, MPs nonetheless pressed ahead with their own plan to head off a No Deal Brexit.
A cross-party group of MPs wanted to push a quick-fire bill through Parliament, to force the government by law to delay the UK's exit.
But there were bitter arguments as opponents said it was both unnecessary - and unconstitutional. Chris Wimpress reports:
