Polygamy is a centuries-old practice in Africa which in the past was the norm among African men seeking large families to cultivate the land. As of 2009, according to the United Nations, polygamy was legal or generally accepted in 33 countries, 25 of them in Africa. In the African setting , the more wives a man has the more children he's likely to have and he is perceived to be wealthy. But how exactly does polygamy work? Chief Alhaji Sani Tanko from Nassarawa State in Nigeria has four wives, he shares his story....
