50 years of the Open University
50 years ago, the open university received it's official royal charter, offering people from all walks of life the chance to study for a degree through distance learning.
Since then over 2 million people have taken up courses and in doing so changed their own futures.
While much has changed over the years about how the university operates, the impact it has on student's lives remains the same
