Most marital unions in Africa are conducted within the customary law therefore marriage and divorce occurrence are hardly registered. In 2015 a report by Center of Population Dynamics indicated that divorce rates have been stable or declining in recent decades. So does divorce happen overnight? Is the signing of divorce papers the finality of a marriage?
