Uganda's resources against Ebola

Uganda Health Minister says teams on the ground are prepared to fight Ebola.

Rwanda's Minister of Health says it has "intensified surveillance at ports of entry, health facilities and at community level". The statement comes in response to three confirmed cross-border cases of Ebola infections in neighbouring Uganda through the eastern DRC border. We also hear from Uganda's Minister of Health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng who says the country is prepared to contrast the spread of the virus.

The former Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia has been taken into custody over alleged corruption. Mr Ouyahia served under ex-President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who was forced to resign in April after weeks of street protests. From the capital Algiers, we speak to journalist Maher Mezahi.

Scraps of news articles, real-life stories, fragments of conversations; the unresolved mysteries on the streets of Lagos inspire the work of writer Toni Kan. His latest book 'Nights of the Creaking Bed' is a work of suspense condensed in a collection of short stories, the first in a new series from African publishing house Cassava Republic.
