Why are we so bad at managing our money?

When Richard Riakporhe became a boxer, he had to learn how to manage his finances from a book. He explains why he wants young people to be more financially savvy.

Growing up, Richard Riakporhe was surrounded by drugs and crime.

He saw more and more of his friends being sent to prison or murdered, so he decided to try and change his life through boxing. He is now the current WBA Cruiserweight Intercontinental Champion.

Not many people had money when he was growing up, so he taught himself how to manage his finances from a book.

Richard speaks to 5 Live's Nihal Arthanayake, alongside Apprentice star Kayode Damali, about why he wants more young people to be financially savvy.
