Turkey: opposition candidate wins Istanbul's re-run mayoral election
In Turkey, the candidate for the main opposition party, the secular Republican People's Party, Ekrem Imamoglu, has won more than half of the votes, after a re-run of the Istanbul鈥檚 mayoral election.In his victory speech, Mr Imamoglu said the result marked a "new beginning" for both the city and the country.Turkey analyst, Guney Yildiz, explains the significance of the election result.
