British Rowing Para-athlete Ben Pritchard has his sights set on Tokyo 2020.

After a freak cycling accident in 2016 changed his life forever, Ben Pritchard is now making headlines in Para-rowing, after picking up the sport at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

"Being told you're never going to walk again is a massive shock to the system," Pritchard told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "I remember the physio saying, 'just get yourself to that first sport session, and everything will be okay'.

"Sport was the place I wanted to go to be me. Sport is me.

"I just wanted to be Ben Pritchard again."

And Pritchard says he has many people to thank that he's racing for medals this season.

"We were aiming for Paris 2024, and Tokyo wasn't even on the horizon.

"Thanks to the hard work of those around me, we're kind of thinking, let's see what happens between Andy (Houghton, who's also part of the British Rowing squad) and I, and see who goes to Tokyo."
