Vicky Knight was eight years old when she was caught up in a flat fire.
She suffered 33 percent scarring to her body.
Having never acted before, she now stars in the new film Dirty God.
She plays Jade, a young mother who is a victim of an acid attack.
Some make-up and prosthetics were used to enhance Jade’s scars for the camera, but underneath Vicky's scarring is genuine.
Vicky spoke to Woman's Hour about how the acid attack victim character helped her come to accept her scars.
