Scotland had the highest number of drug-related deaths in the EU in 2018.
But communities are fighting back.
Open mic nights and gym sessions are run to support families and those who are in recovery in Dundee.
Sharon Brand, who helps run these recovery projects, says trauma causes people to turn to drugs.
The co-founder of Recovery Dundee says her lived experience means she understands the challenges people face when trying to return to a life without drugs.
