Going solar was an easy choice for this homeowner. She says the state power utility Eskom can no longer be relied upon.Ranging between $3000 to $12000 these solar-powered systems don’t come cheap and are out of reach for most South Africans. On the other side of Johannesburg residents of this poor Marlboro, suburb can only dream of having fully integrated solar power. Although they do have solar-powered geysers, or water heaters, supplied by the municipality.
