How bamboo cultivation is creating economic opportunities
Divine Nabaweesi was so heartbroken at the status quo falling trees and instead wanted to see them grow. She, therefore, decided to forego a career as a real estate pro and went on to start Divine Bamboo four years ago. At the moment Uganda is losing about 200 acres of forest every year and that is mainly due to people cutting down trees for charcoal and firewood. Bamboo is a fast-growing plant. It’s very sustainable and we believe it can be a solution for deforestation and climate change happening right now in Africa. So we start the process in the nursery shed, I’m happy to show you.
