Venezuela: a country facing both a deep political crisis, and a devastating economic collapse. Millions of people have fled to neighbouring countries, in search of a better life. For those who are left, life is difficult and profoundly challenging. How to portray this has been a challenging assignment for photographer Ingebjørg Kårstad, in Venezuela on behalf of the Norwegian Refugee Council . We have asked her what she made of what she saw.
