‘They asked me whether I met any terrorists’ in Turkey
The mayor of the town of Prospect Park in the US state of New Jersey says that he and his family were detained for several hours by New York airport officials upon their return from holiday in Turkey. Mohamed Khairullah alleges that this was racial profiling as he was being treated differently because of his Syrian heritage. A US Customs and Border official responded that they treat all travellers with integrity, respect and professionalism. Mr Khairullah spoke to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Newsday.
