'The working assumption is that Stormont will match fund' - John Kelpie
Derry City and Strabane District Council will have to wait at least a year to receive a multi-million pound funding package to boost the economy in the north west. The City Deal, which was announced in May, would see the region receive 拢105m in government funding. But 大象传媒 Radio Foyle has learned it will take at least 12 months before funding is released. It comes after Northern Ireland Secretary Julian Smith warned that the money was dependent on the devolved executive at Stormont returning. John Kelpie is the Council's Chief Executive and spoke to Richard on the Breakfast Show.
