Masks and White Terror in Hong Kong
Stephen is a student at Birmingham University who spent the summer protesting on the streets of Hong Kong, first to overturn the extradition bill but then against police brutality, for universal suffrage and the right to protest. He continues his demonstrations even now he studying in Birmingham, in solidarity with those in Hong Kong. He explains why it was essential to wear a mask in Honk Kong, because of what he describes as 'white terror' from punishment from the Hong Kong police and Chinese Government, and why he still feels the 'white terror' and wears a mask demonstrating in the UK.
