Why the EU are investigating allegations of high-level corruption in Malta
Malta's Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, is stepping down over the scandal surrounding the assassination of the investigative journalist, Daphne Caruana Galizia.
He said he would hand over power next month after his governing Labour Party chooses a new leader.
Dutch MEP Sophie in't Veld, who is leading a European Parliament delegation that is set to arrive in Malta today to investigate the matter, explains the purpose of the mission.
