Bellfield Junior School: When Pupils Meet Pensioners
The World at One鈥檚 adopted school - Bellfield Juniors in Northfield, Birmingham - returns after the Christmas holiday. Some pupils and staff came back early, though, to cook and serve a late Christmas dinner to fifty local elderly people who needed a bit of company. Emma Jane Kirby joined them for the day.
The World at One are following Bellfield over a full school year to see how it manages its very tight budget, being in one of Birmingham鈥檚 most deprived suburbs and to witness the sometimes difficult decisions it has to make to ensure it stays in the black.
