Mike Hoare was an adventurer and a soldier. His work as a mercenary took him to the Congo in the 1960s. He later led a failed coup in the Seychelles, and ended up in jail in South Africa. He was known to many as ‘Mad Mike’ as Tim Ecott, former ´óÏó´«Ã½ journalist who met him told Last Word.
