Fairbourne: The story so far
How do we deal with a future in which flooding is more frequent and more serious because of climate change?
At Fairbourne in Wales, the whole village is going to be 鈥渄ecommissioned鈥 by 2054 at the latest, because of the threat of flooding linked to sea level rise. It means a whole community will have to be moved and there's anger and confusion at the lack of support in place to help people deal with the decision.
The case of Fairbourne raises huge questions about how we adapt to flooding in future, so we're looking in detail at what's going on there.
Our reporter Tom Baker visited the village several times over the winter and in his first report looks at the story so far.
