The United States says there are now close to seventy thousand confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country - an increase of more than ten thousand in one day. The upsurge means the US has more infected people than any other country, other than China or Italy. Half of those infected are in New York state. Erin Durkin is a reporter for Politico New York .
