Coronavirus: 'Proning' technique saved my wife's life
When Adam Fresco was called to see his wife Stacey, who was in intensive care after contracting coronavirus, he was told to prepare for the worst.
He asked if there was anything that could be done to help her, so doctors at the London hospital suggested trying a technique known as "proning" as a last resort.
Proning involves lying a patient on their front to increase oxygen flow to the lungs, but for Stacey, it carried the risk of causing a fatal heart attack.
Speaking to 5 Live's Clare McDonnell, Adam describes the moment they had to make the decision - and why he believes it saved her life.
Mum-of-two Stacey is now recovering at home.
