Nolan Inside Hydebank - Episode Three
Justice Minister Naomi Long reacts to Nolan Inside Hydebank documentary.
The last episode of Nolan Inside Hydebank was broadcast on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One last night. The series is a raw insight into life for young male offenders. It shows what they face while inside, how they are treated, how they work towards their end goal of freedom. It also challenges our perceptions of offenders. There's been a lot of reaction to the programmes this week on the radio and social media. Some have welcomed the chance to see what life's like for these young offenders inside Hydebank. Others have said we should be focusing on victims and not criminals. After yesterday's show the father of a former Hydebank resident contacted me after he heard one caller say the parents of offenders held some responsibility for their children's crimes. I've been speaking to Brian - his son David spent time in jail - and he gave me his reaction to what some callers were saying yesterday. Also, we hear from Justice Minister Naomi Long and get her thoughts on the series as well as other issues which are in the news.
