On the day her first granddaughter turns 20, Mum's carers are just 19 and 22
A birthday edition of the diary, not for Mum or Andrew, but for her granddaughter. Andrew is earlier than usual so he can get home for his daughter's 20th. And, while he's putting the shopping away, the carers arrive to get Mum up, bathed, breakfasted and ready for the day. They're young women of just 19 and 22. It prompts Andrew to think about the choices he's making and about the carers - young and older - keeping vulnerable people like his Mum on track. Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary was originally broadcast on 大象传媒 Radio Leeds.
