Black designer moves Adidas to action
Julia Bond - a young black woman working for the international sports brand, Adidas, in Portland, Oregon - has got the company to make changes to its policy on inclusivity in its workforce in the US. It follows the protests that broke out across the world, condemning the police killing of George Floyd, and many other black people throughout the years. 聽
Julia wrote to the company last week, asking it to apologise for its work environment for black workers. She said Adidas had openly perpetuated racism and discrimination across the brand. 聽Adidas has now publicly announced that it will ensure that about a third of its posts will be filled with black or Latino applicants.聽
