Redundancy during coronavirus: ‘It’s still a bit of a shock period really”
ý Radio 5 Live listener Andy from Stoke-on-Trent contacted the Emma Barnett show to say he has been made redundant from his job as general manager at a restaurant.
The Restaurant Group, which owns Frankie & Benny’s and Garfunkel’s said as many at 120 outlets will not reopen after lockdown.
Andy said he is fortunate to have some savings which he was planning to use as a house deposit, and said when he goes onto the jobs websites "everyone is trying to apply for the same job”.
“It is still a bit of a shock period really,” he said.
