Seattle's autonomous protest zone
It's reported to be peaceful with a carnival atmosphere during the day, but it can be threatening, even violent, at night - and so questions are being asked about the future of a so-called 'autonomous protest zone' set up in Seattle in response to last month's killing of George Floyd as a police officer knelt on his neck.
The Capitol Hill neighbourhood became a police-free zone after city officials made the unusual decision to abandon a police station there following clashes with protesters.
President Trump has called it domestic terrorism and called on local officials to take back control.
Kalen D'Almeida, a journalist for Scriberr News, has reported from inside the zone.
