Local air ambulance to fly its 40,000th mission
Today is a BIG day for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance are expected to hit an important milestone - by completing 40,000 missions since the charity was launched in 1993.
On average, the team, made up of critical care paramedics and doctors based at East Midlands Airport, attend around five emergencies every day, costing more than 拢1,500 per mission.
The team helps to save lives by often getting to jobs within just a few minutes, giving patients the best chance of survival... Like Stephen Underwood from Leicestershire who spoke to 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Summaya Mughal.
