The mothers motivated to run for office by George Floyd's death
In Minnesota, the state where George Floyd lived and died, a group of black mothers have been inspired to stand for local office.
We asked three of them, Laverne McCartney Knighton, Marquita Stephens and Zina Fizer, why they've taken this step.
"I was asked to consider running for the State Senate and I initially thought, 'well that's pretty far fetched'. But I realised as George was calling for his mother, I had a responsibility to answer that call".
