Coronavirus: The Australian tower blocks in lockdown
In Australia, nine public housing blocks in the Victorian capital Melbourne have been locked down after a jump in coronavirus cases in the city – that’s nobody in and nobody out, unless it’s an absolute emergency.
But many of the residents in the blocks say they're being treated much more harshly than wealthier people living in the same postcode and in housing blocks with similar numbers of cases of Covid-19.
Thanos Sirag is quarantined in one of the buildings where she lives with her mother, father, brother and sister.
"People believe these building are full of immigrants and they don't treat them as normal citizens... it's about locking us up and protecting everyone else."
