Kanye West's 'bizarre' presidential rally
The US rapper Kanye West has caused consternation with his first presidential campaign event on Sunday night in South Carolina. Speaking without a microphone, Kanye made off-the-cuff comments, became tearful when talking about nearly aborting his first child and said he believed the escaped slave Harriet Tubman didn鈥檛 actually free any slaves.
Mr West, a one-time a supporter of President Trump, announced he was running for the presidency on Independence Day.
We got the thoughts of Jason Nichols - commentator, columnist and Professor of African American studies at Maryland University.
"I think he was trying to give a pro-life message but it didn't come across that way, it just came across like family gossip... it came across as though he was having an episode."
