Mauritius oil spill: Getting a hair cut to help
The MV Wakashio, believed to have been carrying 4,000 tonnes of fuel oil, ran aground on a coral reef off the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius on 25 July 2020. In order to contain and absorb the oil, locals are making absorbent barriers of straw and even their own hair stuffed into fabric sacks. Opposition MP Joanna Berenger is one of the donors and she explains how this will help relief efforts and how other countries are contributing.
