Ghana rape: Campaign to end fee for medical form
Rape is significantly under-reported in Ghana and according to women's rights groups, police lack the capacity to effectively investigate cases, which can take years to reach a court. A further impediment facing women is the requirement to fill out a police medical form that costs around twice the average monthly earnings of some. Now a leading British-Ghanaian actor, Ama K. Abebrese, has started a campaign to waive the fee.
