Jacob Black protests: Real Salt Lake player's anger at owner's lack of support
Real Salt Lake defender Nedum Onuoha has expressed frustration at the club's owner after he failed to back their protest over the Jacob Blake shooting. Real's game at home to Los Angeles FC was one of five Major League Soccer matches called off on Wednesday.
He says the owner Dell Loy Hansen has said he will take funding away from the team because he was unhappy with the postponement. Onuoha believes the club owners are more concerned with the criticism levelled at the boycott than standing alongside the protests, which have led to widespread postponement of NBA, MLB and MLS games.
"I'm not here to play for someone who doesn't support us. I don't want to be here."
