Featured Artist: Molly Payton

This week's Featured Artist is New Zealand-born North West London-based Molly Payton.

After moving to London two years ago at the age of 16 to pursue music, New Zealander Molly Payton has found her place in the London scene with her gorgeous indie-folk music.

Heavily influenced by artists like Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley, Molly channeled the emotions that came with moving half way across the world into her songwriting, resulting in a deeply personal and evocative sound. Molly’s quirky intonations and intimate storytelling draw you in, giving her an air of mystery you can't quite put your finger on.

After signing to TWMRK Recordings, Molly released her debut EP ‘Mess’ earlier this year and has since gone on to support the likes of Alex G and Palace at shows across the capital. Produced alongside old school friend and Dirty Hit signee Oscar Lang, it wasn’t until Molly uploaded her track ‘Stickers On Your Skateboard’ that she earned her first spin on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Music Introducing in London.

Despite the hurdles 2020 has put in Molly’s path, the singer-songwriter has built on this success and is back with a new EP, indie-pop banger ‘WARM BODY’ offering us a promising taste of what’s to come.
