South Africa reports millions of job losses

The coronavirus pandemic and lockdown has led to a economic contraction in South Africa with an upsurge in unemployment possibly up to 5million

South Africa鈥檚 economy lost 2.2 million jobs in the second quarter of 2020, according to the government's statistics agency.

Following a major corruption probe in Sierra Leone, several people including former President Ernest Bai Koroma have been ordered not to leave the country.
