Head of Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum appeals to Nigerian president
The director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Poland has written to the president of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari to ask him to pardon a 13-year-old boy who is serving a ten-year jail sentence for blasphemy. The Nazis murdered over a million people at the Auschwitz death camp in World War Two, many of them children, and as Piotr Cywi艅ski explains, he could not remain indifferent to what he called a 'disgraceful sentence for humanity'.
