Brazil's record fire season
The world's largest tropical wetland area, the Pantanal in Brazil, has been dealing with forest fires for months and more than two million hectares of land have been destroyed. Brazil's National Space Research agency says the number of forest fires there has almost trebled compared to the same period last year. Paulo Barreto is a forest engineer and deforestation researcher at the environmental group Imazon.
