Would you want to be told your carbon footprint when you check out?
A climate-friendly option is being offered by the Danish supermarket chain, COOP DK, which calculates the carbon footprint of a shoppers' purchases at the check-out. Company officials say they are trying to educate consumers with an eye toward nudging them to cut back on meat and dairy. Thomas Roland, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for COOP DK explains how the initiative works.
