Journalist Sali Hughes has been trolled online. It's made her life hell. So, when the opportunity to confront one of the women involved presents itself, she seizes it. This is part of the half hour conversation they have outside a caf茅 in South West London. The identity of the woman has been protected. Her name has been changed and her words are spoken by an actor, but the words are exactly the same. Sali asks her why she did it, whether she feels she and others had lost sight of the fact they were targeting another human being. The meeting follows the release of a study by the anti-online abuse organsiation Glitch which suggests a huge increase in the number of people being trolled during Covid-19. At the same time, the Government's Online Harms Bill - which aims to protect people from online abuse and hold online platforms accountable - appears to have stalled during the pandemic.
